The Nursing Scholars Program fosters opportunity and success for outstanding high school junior and senior students who show interest and ability in 十大网赌软件推荐’s Nursing Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree. There are two levels of scholarships to be awarded, level one and level two. Nursing Scholars receive support from advisors charged with helping Scholars make the best possible transition from high school through the completion of 十大网赌软件推荐’s Nursing AAS Degree.

Level One Scholarships Provide:

Nursing Scholars within 十大网赌软件推荐’s region receive a level one scholarship that provides in-state tuition, college fees, and textbooks for the five Nursing AAS Degree program prerequisite courses completed by high school graduation.

Please review the current AAS Nursing Degree Traditional Placement Option (TPO) that lists the five program prerequisites or courses needed prior to entering the nursing program

Level One Scholarship Requirements:

Students must:

• Be rising high school juniors and seniors (public, private, homeschool) who reside in 十大网赌软件推荐’s service region that includes the counties of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, and Pulaski and the city of Radford.
• Submit an official high school transcript that clearly shows an unweighted high school grade point average of 3.75 or higher.
• Submit three letters of reference from non-family members using these criteria.
• Demonstrate superior levels of leadership and citizenship in the requisite application essays following these guidelines.
• Apply to 十大网赌软件推荐 if not already a dual enrolled student.
• Complete the level one scholarship application.

2023 Level One Scholarship Deadlines

February 9	Students begin the level one application and provide high school transcripts, essays, and letters of reference. Forms will be available on this page.
March 14	Students should have completed level one application including all essays and letters of reference, submitted an official high school transcript clearly showing an unweighted GPA of 3.75 or higher, and applied to 十大网赌软件推荐 unless applicant is already a dual-enrolled student.
April 17	Nursing Scholar award notifications sent via emails provided.
April 24	Nursing Scholar acceptance deadline

Level Two Scholarships Provide:

Tuition and college fees for four semesters of required courses in the Nursing AAS Degree, including textbooks and required fees.

Level Two Scholarship Requirements:

Students Must:

• Have received a level one scholarship.
• Have completed the five prerequisite courses with a grade of “B” or better by high school graduation.
• Complete a FAFSA application.
• Complete an ACCE application and meet all ACCE requirements.
• Complete the Associate Degree Nursing Application and meet all Nursing AAS Degree admissions requirements.
• Be offered admission and accepted the Nursing AAS Degree Program.
• Be offered admission and accepted into the ACCE Program.
• Complete the level two scholarship application.

2023 Level Two Scholarship Deadlines

March 22	Level two scholarship application due.
April 1	ACCE Award Notifications sent via the emails provided.
April 10	ACCE Student Acceptance Deadline - Only respond to one email.
April 24	Nursing Scholar Level Two award notifications sent via 十大网赌软件推荐 email.
May 1	Accept the Nursing Scholars level two award.

Selection Process:

Nursing Scholars will be selected by an appointed committee comprised of 十大网赌软件推荐 faculty and staff. Membership of the committee is confidential. Every effort will be made to have one Scholar per service region city/county. All decisions made by the committee are final.
